SMS options

Under “Send SMS” menu you can find everything you will need to send single or bulk SMS.

Sender ID: At first in the file “Sender Identity” you can type the name that you want to show the recipient’s mobile phone as sender of the message that you will send. If you have set up more than one sender identities, then you can choose the preferred one for each message by clicking at the drop down menu (the little arrow at the right side of this field).

Recipients: After you have defined the Sender ID of your message, you have to add the recipient(s) of the single or bulk SMS that you will send. You can click inside “Insert recipients/groups” field and type the phone number of the recipient and then press enter. Also if there are stored contacts at your address book, then you just have to type the first letters (for name/surname) or digits (for phone) of a contact.

By choosing the “Groups”, you can see all stored contact groups and with an easy way you can click on group(s) you wish to send SMS. If you want to send bulk SMS to all stored contacts in your address book, just click in “All contacts”.

Upload contacts from file, helps you enter recipients using a xls, csv, txt file. In this case, contacts that are contained in this file are not stored in your address book of your account. To store these contacts in your account, you have to upload your file from “Contacts” menu.

SMS text: At this text area you type the text of the SMS that you want to send. You can use characters from any language (English, Greek, French), digits and symbols. Try to avoid “copy – paste” of text and type it directly to the text area field. If your text is more than 160 characters, the cost of the message will be 2 credits, if you use more than 306 characters the cost will be 3 credits etc. These SMS are called long SMS or concatenated SMS and every 153 characters a credits is used. We would like to inform you that the following characters count as double: [ - ]{}~^|\ .

Personalized SMS: With this option you can send personilized SMS to your contacts. In the text of the message recipient will see his Name/Surname. You do not need to type individually SMS for each one of your clients, but only one message with the same text for all. So you type the macros #name# or/and #surname# at the text of the message. Name or/and Surname will be used automatically from your stored contacts.

Additional SMS options

SMS template: From this field you can choose a ready message that you have already typed and stored at “SMS templates” menu. If you haven’t created a SMS template yet, just click in “Create a new SMS template” link. SMS templates are usefull to save SMS text in your account for future sendings. They are very usefull in case you use the same message text often. After you have created your SMS template, click the drop down menu (the arrow in the right side of the field” and choose the SMS template you want to use. The message text of the SMS template will be loaded and you can start editing it.

Schedule SMS: You can click inside “Scheduling sending” text box in order to schedule the exact date and time you want to send your single or bulk SMS. Scheduled SMS remain in your account until they are sent. So you can edit or cancel them anytime from “Reports” menu under “Scheduled SMS” submenu. If you decide to cancel your scheduled SMS before it’s sending then credits/sms will be refunded to your account.

Unicode SMS: When you enable the option «Unicode SMS» you can use in the message text non latin characters such as Chinese, Cyrillic, Arabic, lowercase Greek etc. In this case the SMS cost is counted per 70 characters.

Flash SMS: When you enable the option «Flash SMS» you can send a flash notification which will not be stored in the recipient’s mobile device and will disappear when he/she reads it. In this case the cost of the SMS cost is counted normally (160 characters per credit).

Before you press “Send” button we suggest you check the detailed “Summary” where you can see total used characters, number of recipients you chose, SMS cost and your remaining balance. If everything is as you wish, you can press “Send” and your message will be sent.
